Best Of: Spring Racing Fashion

23 Oct, 2019

The weather is warming up, the nights are getting longer, and everyone has a jazzy little spring in their step. This can only mean one thing: Spring has officially sprung, bringing with it the start of the Spring Carnival season. *Adjusts imaginary fascinator in delighted anticipation.*

Spring Carnival is the chance to put your classiest and most classic foot forward. From the Melbourne Cup to Stakes Day, the fashion on the fields are all about elegant outfits, fun headdresses and resplendent (but sensible!) footwear choices. This is not the time to play it safe—the racing season is all about embracing florals, pastels, lace, bright hues and clashing prints.

Not a dress person? No problems! Slip into a jumpsuit or a power suit, pair with your favourite heels, and know that you’ll stand out from the crowd whilst also adhering to the dress code. Don’t like fascinators? Enter the on-trend head clip, a subtle alternative to the flouncier head pieces you’re guaranteed to encounter at this time of year. Or, for a more sun-safe option, this is the perfect time to try out that wide-brim hat you’ve been meaning to wear. When it comes to footwear, sandals, open-toe heels, wedges and even flats are all acceptable, but if you’re going the extra mile (high), opt for a thicker heel or an ankle strap for additional support.

If you're still stuck for inspiration for the next racing day, take a look at all the major lewks our favourite Tony Bianco girls have pulled out so far this year below!
