This month we’re inspired by Australian brands on a mission to make our busy lives that little bit easier without sacrificing on the self-pampering we all deserve.
Cue Esmio Australia, founded by four female entrepreneurs, Saryne Hanna, Rochele Politis, Jazmin Oluklu and Nicolle El Rassy, these sisters and besties created a unique One Step Nail Gel that brings salon quality nails into our own home! Thank you ladies!
We sat down with the girls to chat more about starting their brand and what’s next on the horizon…
What inspired you to create Esmio?
The lack of transparency with nail brands and poor-quality products inspired us to start Esmio and create the best one stop nail shop. We want to save women time and money and give them the ability to learn a wonderful new skill!
It’s wonderful to see a successful female led business. How did you approach founding the business?
Nicolle had influenced us to stop spending money at the nail salon and to start doing our nails ourselves from home, this was back in late 2017! As we all started to get into at home nails, we were constantly looking for better products and our nails kits consisted of 8-10 different nail brands which was extremely frustrating, it was like all of these brands made only 1 great product and on top of that, they weren't even user friendly- we had to tweak around with the process because the instructions were never accurate. One day in 2019 we came together and decided to start the journey of testing out nail manufacturers in the hopes that we would be able to establish a gel polish business that was both easy to use and had better nail formulations- we knew we could do better and offer a better product so we worked on testing for over a year and in December 2020, Esmio was born! It came together quite naturally and comfortably, we did not rush anything, we just all worked together to achieve a strong business foundation!
What is your best advice for young entrepreneurial women?
Appreciate all of your mistakes as much as you appreciate all the wins, always take them on as a lesson and try not to be too hard on yourself, we find that the more mistakes we make the more we thrive! Also never give up- ebbs and flows are natural to everything in life- you will get there! Consistency is key, just keep going!
What are your go-to nail colours for the season?
Sabrina Skin, Marian Mahogany, all of the sheers and dark shades! And the upcoming Saryne Sage and Maria Marina (Saryne and Maria are launching Mid May)
If you could only use one product from your range, what would it be?
Roch Red, named after Roch a founder is a classic red! French tip tool, glass file and of course the nail lamp.
What is your top nail care tip?
Cuticle Oil every day!!!
What’s next for Esmio?
There are so many things! We have some amazing innovative products launching so watch this space!
Open-toe heel season will be here before we know it, thoughts on when it comes to matching your mani to your pedi?
LOVE a matching mani pedi- lately we are obsessing over a French Mani Pedi- that will definitely make a comeback!

Hard to pick just one but this season we are loving the TB Anjas in the colour 'silver shine'!
